If you knew Todd well, you might have called him Ted-Todd. It didn't make any sense, but a friend of his coined the nickname one night and it stuck. Todd had the thickest bottle bottom glasses I'd ever seen. During HS he hung out on the back steps of SMS enjoying his outsider status with the rest of us. Todd was always a kind soul. He loved music more than anything. His older brother (also deceased) had the biggest record collection I'd ever seen. It rivaled the selection at Tiger's. Todd couldn't drive a vehicle worth a damn. Every time Todd got a new car and even a motorcycle once, it was just a matter of time before we'd hear that he crashed it into something. The bottle bottom glasses probably contributed to that quite a bit.
Ted-Todd was my room-mate for a while after H.S. His girlfriend at the time was Annleigh McManis, who has also since passed away. Perhaps they've found each another again. I lost track of Todd when I moved to Arizona in the 80s. He contacted me shortly after his Mom passed away and we talked about getting together. Unfortunately we didn't make plans and weren't able to re-connect before he passed away on Christmas Eve of that year.
So Ted-Todd... Wherever you are, I'll surely join you eventually. I'll see you again one of these days old friend.
Todd, We shared grade school, junior high and high school together and I'm sure our paths won't stop there, so until we see each other again, rest in peace and save me a seat! ;-* ~Darby
